I live in Chicago and it gets awfully cold in the winter. On really cold days, the doorbell would ring by itself! Sometimes it would make this horrible dying cat sound in the middle of the night when it was extremely cold. It was so annoying that I had to remove the batteries and discontinue using it. Also, the battery in the doorbell buzzer would come loose if you pressed it too hard, so most of the time it didn't work anyway. I was very disappointed with this doorbell.
