Product Description
Now that we're firmly in the future of the 21st century, it's time to make your house look like it belongs there, and what better way to do so than with a Plasma Ball? This 7" Plasma Ball provides the thrill of seeing colored snakes of electricity shooting forth from the central electrode. The plasma lamp was invented by Nikola Tesla after his experimentation with high frequency currents in an evacuated glass tube for the purpose of studying high voltage phenomena. Tesla called this invention an Inert Gas Discharge Tube. We call it a Plasma Ball; you'll call it hours of fun and a beautiful, ever-changing work of art. The Plasma Ball as we know it today was created by Bill Parker, an undergraduate student at MIT who was an Artist-in-Residence at the famous San Francisco Exploratorium. This work of art doubles as a snappy piece of scientific engineering. Hold it in your hands and watch the sparks fly!
