Probably the BEST desk toy you can get. Runs on 4 AA's or 6v adaptor. I suggest you get the adaptor. When the batteries run low, it will just glow purple and blue. Cool effect, but not as much fun. I had a full size one since about 1986 but put it away a long time ago for space. This little one is perfect for any place. Looks sharp and is a great conversation starter. As long as kids understand it is made of glass, and are old enough to handle it, it can occupy them for hours. Great for scale models, special effects, parties, etc. The current is low enough to make it very safe for most people. If you ever wanted one, just get it. It is great fun.
