Perfect replacement for original battery # 690071 or 691235 but the literature does not say so until you get the battery with its packaging. It fits and works on tool set # 840055 which includes drill # 691234 and other tools. I will never again buy Craftsman tools because Sears deliberately changes their batteries and chargers so that they are never backwards compatible, and you have to buy new batteries at more than the cost of the original tool set. Batteries are the weakest link on portable tools, so buy with battery replacement in mind-- get them early before they are discontinued.
