I bought a new NMH battery with extended hours for my Makita 12V orange battery driven tools that have been workhorses over the years, only to find out that the universal chargers used over the years wont work with the new battery. "Thats just great". However I took the plunge and bought this new charger with all its bells and whistles and let me tell you I am glad I did. It analyzes the state, and charges to full in the fastest time I have ever seen. Extremely pleased. I also think I am getting better deeper charges from my older orange 12volters probably due to the advanced sensing circuitry in this model. Get one!
