Product Description
This Westinghouse ceiling fan mounting support box allows you to safely install a ceiling fan without going into the attic. use for new construction work or a remodel, the mount provides a steady support system that attachs to existing ceiling joists of 16-24 inches. Adjusting size is a snap with a patented design that allows for fast fingertip expansion and positive attachment to joists.
The brace includes a heavy duty box with a capacity of 15-1/2 inches and all necessary mounting hardware to get the job done right the first time. Safely supports ceiling fans as heavy as 70 pounds and ceiling fixtures up to 150 pounds. The brace is UL listed and meets or exceeds all relevant NEC safety codes--Jeffrey Dalto

Westinghouse chandelier-ceiling fan brace. Rated up to 70 pounds for ceiling fans and up to 100 pounds for chandeliers. Expandable metal hanger bar may be positioned between ceiling joists 16" to 24" apart. Installs without going into the attic. Includes a heavy duty, 15 1/2 cubic inch dual mount box and mounting hardware. UL rated.

This is a great well designed and well made product. Once the old box was out (which was not so easy), the support bar and box were easily installed from inside the room and my formerly wobbly, noisy, and in-danger-of-falling fan was secure and quiet.
