Product Description
The GB Circuit Tracker Circuit Breaker Finder easily locates circuits without turning off breakers or fuses. With the transmitter plugged into live 120 Volt outlet, the finder uses audible and visual indicators for ease of use. The finder also features a magnetic back and a long probe lead that keeps the tester at eye and ear level for easy identification. Additionally, an exclusive probe design and impact-resistant Soft-Grip housing improves use and durability. The finder also uses a 9-volt battery (not included).

It seems like you have to experiment a bit to find the best way to orient the wand for maximum response (maybe it even varies by the brand of breaker box and breakers). For me it seemed to work best when the tip of the wand was parallel with the outer edge of the breaker. When you do find the "right" breaker you'll get both the tone (not to be confused with the ever-present 60Hz buzz) and the top red light is illuminated. Sometimes it seems like I get a "tie" -- pick one, open it, if the tone doesn't stop, it's the other one. Even under the worst of conditions where you can't decide, it's still somewhat handy, since flipping breakers one a time until the tone stops still beats flipping a breaker and jogging to some other part of the house to see if you got the right one.
