About This 3-Piece Door Bit Set
The Freud 3-Piece Door Bit Set combines the popular rail and stile bits with 2+2 raised panel bits. This set allows the woodworker to build doors with true mortise and tenon construction for rock-solid joints that last a lifetime. These MicroGrain carbide bits cut all composition materials, plywood, hardwood, and soft wood. They feature an anti-kickback design for safety, multi-axis grinding for burn free cuts, a Perma-shield coating to resist heat, and a shear angle design that produces a truly superior finish. This set is designed for use on 1/2-inch shank table-mounted portable routers, and it includes bits 99-571 and 99-261 -- plus an attractive wooden storage box.
Applications
This bit set features two small wings that cut downward and two large wings that shear upward, for an extremely smooth cut in hardwoods, softwoods and even plywoods. This revolutionary design is combined with a backcutter so that, in one step, you can create a flawless raised panel door that is flush with the frame on both sides

Application: Produces perfect fitting rail and stile doors from 3/4" stock.
Cabinet bit sets combine the most popular rail and stile bit sets with one Quadra-Cut raised panel bit. Freud's exclusive Quadra-Cut 4 cutter design provides the smoothest cuts possible. You'll get crisp, clean edges every time, even with cross-grain cuts in difficult materials.
All bits have 1/2" shanks and are designed to be used on 3/4" stock.

3-1/2" diameter raised panel bits included in set are not recommended for use with steel or aluminum router plates with 3-5/8" maximum openings, including the Rockler large aluminum router plates.
Owner Reviews, Ratings, Comments and Criticism
Have owned this bit set for two years created raised panel wainscoting when we built our house (about 56 lineal feet of stacked panels totalling 8' high. The panel system was made from MDF which usually does a real number on bits. Pulled it out a few days ago to make some raised panel doors for another project in solid cherry with excellent results. Once word of caution, if you do not have a variable speed router don't even think about buying this or any other panel raising set, unless you wish to cause yourself bodily harm or damage your router. I used a Bosch 1617EVS at the 2nd from lowest speed for the Cherry and the lowest speed for MDF and made two or three passes with the largest bit.
