This hose reel cart is a workhorse. Its sturdy construction gives it a fairly solid feel, and its wide base stabilizes the hose-reeling action. It rolls relatively smoothly, and the crank turns well, though the low height of the crank makes it less comfortable to use while standing. There are some nice features that make this Reel Easy a viable choice. Plastic notches hold loose hose ends and are easier to use than the snaps on other reel carts, and the top handle can fold down, enabling easy storage, though the mechanism that releases the handle can be a bit stiff to operate. Best of all, however, is the happy fact that this item comes preassembled, and that feature is worth a lot. If you don't need the larger capacity and storage tray of the more expensive version, this cart should suit you well.

The Ames ReelEasy Assembled Hose Reel Cart is an all-poly hose reel that is fully assembled and ready to use. It has a 4 foot leader hose with brass coupling and double O-rings to prevent leaking. This is a 90 deg. water system that is recommended for 5/8 inch vinyl hose. The hose reel cart has 6 inch wheels, a 16 inch x 9 7/8 inch reel size, and 150 feet hose capacity. The ReelEasy Assembled Hose Reel Cart has a limited lifetime warranty.

I concur with the other reviewers...this really is junk. It leaked like CRAZY (as in water flowing all the way to my neighbor's driveway within the first 10 minutes) and no amount of tightening could stop it. You could never really use the "handy" reel-it-in feature, since the whole contraption is too flimsy to support its own weight. Then it broke one day, just from falling over while I was unreeling hose...the whole handle just broke right off. Other parts soon followed. I tried to use it until the end of the season, but the leaking progressed to the point where I finally just put it out on the curb the night before trash day. Not surprisingly, nobody garbage-picked it... ;-) Soooooo not worth any money saved! Get a better model.
